We always backup your files before installing the new operating system.
Installing Windows 7 on an Existing Windows XP Computer
Windows XP does not allow you to perform an in-place upgrade to Windows 7.
We transfer your documents and settings from your XP-based PC to a backup location first. Then, we will perform a clean install or Custon Install of Windows 7 on the existing computer.
If you want to upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7, we will need to perform a custom installation or Clean Install of Windows 7 and then migrate your files and settings from Windows XP. All Programs and applications must be Reinstalled.
Dual Boot Windows 7 & Windows XP
We can install Windows 7 on the existing Computer running Windows XP, on a different hard drive or partition in the same hard drive so that you can keep your XP programs, data & applications. This way, you can dual boot between both Windows XP and 7, copy files between the two environments as needed.
